Gary Pye Woodturning started from humble beginnings with Gary selling woodturning tools and equipment from his workshop in 1983.

This was done in conjunction with running a woodturning business, teaching woodturning, working part time at a university teaching students in woodcraft and doing demo's for various tool companies at woodshows and clubs.

This continued till 1994, when we concentrated solely on selling woodturning and woodworking equipment. We moved to the current location in 2001 and the company has remained a family business.

Company Director Gary Pye has been involved in woodworking all his life, working with his grandfather from an early age then completing an apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery. Gary became very proficient at woodturning from an early age and his work has been featured in Fine Woodworking, Practical Woodworker, Australian Woodworker, Craft Arts and has exhibited his work in Australia and the USA.

Gary spent some time in the USA studying the mail order concept and woodworking shops in the early 1990s' and also visited many famous woodworkers and woodturners which he will never forget. Having grown up in Northern NSW Gary has a great appreciation for our native timbers.

Gary started the business to fill a hole in the market for special tools and machinery and to this day we continue to design and sell worldwide our unique product range.
